Eich Split Roller Bearings

Eich Split Roller Bearings

Split Bearings are adapted to specific applications, such as cranked drive shafts (driven strand guiding rolls, support bearings for long/heavy drive spindles), very long drive shafts (shafts, drive shafts in fans), or difficult-to-access depositories (drive shaft of a heavy fan).

Split roller bearings are available as fixed bearings, floating bearings, and supporting and guiding bearings. Fixed and supporting types of bearings absorb axial forces in addition to radial forces.

Split Bearings Structure

The split bearings are similar to the structure of unsplit bearings: inner ring, outer ring, and roller element set. All the parts are divided axially. The clamping rings are added to attach the bearing. However, in most cases, the inner ring is clamped with the clamping rings on a shaft.

The outer ring has no gap and is held by the housing bore. Another design is the so-called split housing bearing unit, which includes, in addition to the split bearing, a split housing. These housings are available with different features, e.g., integrated water cooling. Here the housing usually shows a minor wearing. Therefore it can be used multiple times.
