These hoses are constructed with multiple layers of materials to provide durability and resistance to abrasion, weathering, and chemical exposure. 

The innermost layer is usually made of synthetic rubber or thermoplastic material compatible with petroleum-based products. Reinforcement layers, often made of high-strength synthetic fibers or steel wire braids, provide strength and support. The outer layer is designed to protect the hose from external damage.
