The Heynau H-Drive stands as one of the most renowned mechanical variable speed mechanisms. Its uncomplicated design, composed mainly of steel components, adheres to the strictest criteria for noise reduction, precise speed control, superior efficiency, and long-lasting performance.

The H-Drive gearboxes employ a pair of cones that transmit power through an encircling steel ring. By adjusting the positioning of these cones relative to the steel ring, a speed modulation range of 6:1 or 9:1 can be achieved (resulting in a 3:1 reduction and either a 1:2 or 1:3 increase). This broad spectrum of speeds can be achieved whether the machine is stationary or in motion.

The gearbox can be configured with input and output reducers to attain a wide range of speed and power specifications. Motors can be placed on the input side to create comprehensive drive solutions.

To facilitate lubrication, power transmission, and effective heat dissipation, a unique type of Heynau "Long-Life" oil is employed. This oil possesses characteristics that generate an "elasto-hydrodynamic" phenomenon, effectively preventing direct metal-to-metal contact between the transmission surfaces. This leads to exceptional resistance to wear and tear, eliminating the need for oil changes.

The drives are permanently lubricated within sealed enclosures, rendering them maintenance-free.
