Italvibras VR Model Rotational Motion Exciters

The VR Series of Rotational Motion Exciters are engineered for use in pairs, on vibrating machines of medium or large sizes. The product design allows an excellent containment of noise and long service life.

Centrifugal force setting is simple through the choice of additional insert weights. It is up to 130200 lbs (581 kN) by pair of VR exciters. The exciters allow obtaining a unidirectional vibration with high values of centrifugal force by arranging two pairs of VR oscillators in parallel on the vibrating machine.

They are mounted with shafts in the horizontal position and can be operated under the temperatures from -40°F to +158°F (-40°C to +70°C).

Functioning

The VR exciter has a spheroidal cast iron body, within which two bearings support a shaft with eccentric weights arranged at either end, generating the declared centrifugal force. Bearings are lubricated by an oil bath, which must be inserted by the end user. 

In a static moment, the centrifugal force is adjustable through additional weight inserts in steel or lead. When used in the applications, the exciters are jointed with a cardan shaft from both sides of the machine (U1 and U2). The shaft rotation with two joints is implemented through the external drive, connecting to the shaft through a joint, basically a cardan.

In this case, the external drive can be an electric motor, hydraulic, or other to be connected directly to the joint through belts and pulleys and can have variable speed in function of exciter specifications.

Static Moment

The total static moment varies from 373 to 6386 in-Ibs depending on the model. For every single model, the static moment can be set thanks to the additional steel or lead inserts. 

Bearings 

Spherical double crown roller bearings, high-rated lifetime at maximum load.

Additional Features

The VR Italvibras exciters are supplied with:

• coupling flange according to DIN standards on the shaft;

• oil level inspection hole, magnetic plugs, and breathing plug with valve;

• additional weights, based on the requested weight setting;

• technical handbook for use and maintenance.
