Magnatrol Solenoid Coils
The coil is a two-wire electrical component controlled by a single or double-pole switch. Place the switch in the hot leg of 120-volt circuits for maximum efficiency when installing it. For circuits with both legs hot, such as 240 or 480 volts, a double pole switch is a good solution to ensure seamless operation. However, in the case of a single pole switch, the wiring has top-quality insulation to prevent any sticking problems caused by leakage currents. The full voltage should be supplied to the coil immediately on the motor hookup with a step control starter.
We would like to note that the coil can be readily changed while the valve is still under pressure.
We offer Solenoid Coils manufactured by Magnatrol Valves with 120 volts, 60 hertz. However, the current is inversely proportional to other voltages: For instance, if a given valve draws 0.5 amperes on 120 volts, it would draw 0.25 amperes on 240 volts, or 0.125 amperes on 480 volts. Where the power consumption is shown in DC watts, the valves given should be divided by the voltage to acquire the current in amperes. Power consumption for all valves is shown in the individual bulletins.

Continuous Duty Coils: Coils can be energized continuously without overheating or failure.
Wire Leads: 18" long 18 gauge wire standard (longer continuous leads available).
Encapsulated: Coils are encapsulated for a temperature of the intended service, ensuring excellent resistance to shock, moisture, oil, and chemicals.
