Magnatrol Type “A” Full Port Bronze Solenoid Valve
The “A” type Full Port is a normally closed bronze solenoid valve with ½” to 3” pipe sizes. The maximum fluid temperature is 212°F, and the maximum static pressure is 300 PSI.
These solenoid valves are designed to control the flow of water, oil, air, gas, solvents, brine, and vacuum. They can operate effectively within a differential pressure range specified in the catalog. The valve must be mounted in a horizontal pipe with a solenoid enclosure vertical and on top.
Operation
The A Full Port solenoid valve opens when energized and closes when de-energized. When the coil is energized the pilot valve opens, relieving the pressure above the piston relieving the pressure above the piston, which is then lifted from its seat by the plunger. After de-energizing the coil, a spring closes the pilot valve and opens a bleed passageway to permit pressure to build above the piston and seat it.
