Mayr EAS-HTL Torque Limiters

The EAS-HTL is a torque-limiting clutch employing the ball-recess principle, designed with a positive locking and disengaging mechanism. Its primary function is to protect the drive train from potentially damaging torque surges that can result from unexpected obstructions.

Regarding its operation during disengagement or synchronous operation, in the event the preset torque limit is surpassed (signifying an overload condition), the clutch disengages, leaving a residual torque of approximately 5% to a maximum of 15% of the set torque. After the overload situation is resolved, the clutch automatically re-engages and locks into the detent position.

In disengagement mode, if the preset torque is exceeded (another overload case), the clutch disengages fully. This means the transmission mechanism is completely disconnected, and only bearing friction remains active. To restore functionality, the clutch must be manually re-engaged.
