REDEX MSR – 2 Speed VTL Turntable Gearbox

The MSR 2-Speed VTL turntable represents an innovative technology that amalgamates two right-angle, 2-speed gearboxes to achieve robust turning capabilities and precise C-Axis motion for milling operations. In this system, the MSR output pinions engage with the turntable ring gear. In turning mode, both motor-gearboxes collaborate, sharing the load evenly at a 50%-50% ratio, resulting in a motor size that is only half that of a typical main drive motor. During the positioning and milling (C-Axis) mode, one gearbox is actively pressed against the other to eliminate backlash entirely, ensuring accurate positioning. Moreover, the gear ratio shift covers the entire range of speed requirements, offering high-speed turning and low-speed, high-torque milling capabilities.

This system delivers full load capacity during turning and effectively eliminates backlash during milling. The MSR stands as a compact solution that significantly simplifies VTL turntable kinematics, guaranteeing exceptional performance in terms of speed range, torque, and precision.
