Renold Dual Lead Worm Gears

Renold DL series Dual Lead Worm Gears are designed with a unique construction that allows for backlash adjustment and bidirectional rotation. They consist of two sides: one side is the threaded worm, and the other side is the wheel with mating teeth. The mating sites are engineered with one lead, and the other flank and it's mating wheel teeth to a slightly different lead. This design creates a worm thread that increases in thickness from one end of the worm to the other. 

One of the key advantages of these gears is their ability to run in either direction of rotation. This means that they can be used in applications where the direction of rotation needs to change or be reversible. They are ideal for rotary tables, cutter drives, and machine tool positioning mechanisms.
