Rexnord Autogard 200 Series Torque Limiter

Functioning similar to a mechanical "circuit breaker" designed to safeguard the most vulnerable component within the drive system, Autogard Torque Limiters are most effective when positioned as close as possible to the component they intend to protect. The 200 Series represents a cutting-edge mechanical device capable of disengaging at a predetermined torque level. This trip torque is configured to be higher than the typical startup and operational torque but kept below a torque level that would typically cause harm to the driving and/or driven equipment. In the event of a jam, the 200 Series serves to prevent damage by disconnecting the inertia within the drive system. In the typical operational state, torque is transmitted through the drive balls, which are securely seated in detents within the drive plate and the slide plate. These components are held together by the pressure exerted by a spring.
