Robotic Transport Units

A Robotic Transport Unit (RTU), also referred to as a Robot positioning track or "seventh axis" (when used alongside a 6-axis Robot), offers an effective solution for reducing the number of robots required within your facility. By utilizing an RTU, you can expand the work envelope and broaden the range of activities that can be performed. This, in turn, increases the potential utilization rates and minimizes the need for additional robot investments.

Traditionally, robots are fixed in a single location, but with the integration of an RTU, the robot can move throughout a cell or across a factory, catering to multiple machines or processes. This eliminates the necessity to purchase multiple robots and conveyors, as the RTU enables the robot to reach each machine. In situations where an articulated robot lacks the reach to tend to all machines in a cell, an RTU can shuttle the robot between two or more machines, thus saving costs and mitigating the complexity associated with acquiring a second robot.
