800 & 8800 Series Adjustable Center Drives

The adjustable center drive comprises four essential drive system components: a spring-loaded pulley mounted on the motor shaft, a fixed diameter attendant sheave mounted on the driven shaft, a variable speed belt that operates between the pulley and sheave, and a sliding motor base for secure motor mounting.

These drives are commonly employed to achieve output speed reduction, resulting in a 1:1 ratio between the motor and drive shafts. This is accomplished by positioning the belt at its maximum pitch diameter on the spring-loaded driver pulley while minimizing the center distance between the motor and the driven shaft.

The output speed can be adjusted by rotating the handwheel on the sliding motor base, thereby moving the motor towards or away from the driven shaft. This movement enables the belt to achieve a lower pitch diameter on the spring-loaded driver pulley.
